Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn, LLP is seeking a professionally mature senior patent attorney with 10-15 years of high-level experience with patent prosecution, client counseling, opinion drafting and transactional matters to join our Intellectual Property and Technology Group. Electrical engineering background preferred or mechanical engineering. Portable business is a plus. Applicants should also have excellent law school and undergraduate credentials.

Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP's Intellectual Property Practice Group encompasses all aspects of patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret law, including search, registration, enforcement, anti-counterfeiting, litigation and a wide variety of transactional work involving intellectual property rights ("IPR"). We assist foreign clients in extending protection for IPR developed in their home countries to the U.S. market, and U.S. clients in securing U.S. and global protection of IPR.

Responsible for docketing of U.S. and foreign intellectual property matters, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, domain names, license agreements, and opposition and cancellation actions. Review, analyze and distribute incoming intellectual property correspondence and enter data and scanned documents in PATTSY docketing system. Assist in creating files for new matters. Process and track incoming related invoices. Respond to attorney and staff inquiries. Prepare docket and invoice reports. Organize and maintain filing for intellectual property matters.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4+ years of trademark and patent docketing experience (law firm preferred), must care deeply about accuracy and timeliness, and be able to work as part of a busy team
• Highly motivated, the ability to work with minimal supervision on highly confidential matters
• Must be comfortable searching in U.S. and foreign PTO databases to verify information
• Strong Microsoft Word and Excel experience
• Working knowledge of USPTO, PCT and international rules and regulations required
• Excellent organizational skills
